Activate Distribution List Manager allows business users to manage distribution lists without requiring Service Desk support. By using Self Service concepts the system allows business users to request, approve and create new distribution lists.
For example, requesting access to a Distribution List is as simple as going to a web site, selecting a Distribution List and hitting submit. An email approval request is then sent to the business owners of the list, who can then either approve or decline the request. Upon approval, they user is automatically added to the list.
Creating new Distribution Lists is just as simple, however smart managment of these user created lists means that IT never has to worry about unused or out of date lists. For example, every 180 days owners of the Distribution Lists are asked to verify that the list is still required.
