The Activate User Provisioning Manager module allows for the creation and basic management of user accounts, including such tasks as update user, disable user and delete user. The Advanced User Management module extends these tasks to include more complex tasks such as 'move user between locations'.

Activate Hierarchical Role Based Provisioning™ allows metadata about the user to be easily configured by Administrators. This allows user policy and entitlements to be specified in a simple and comprehensive manner.

For example,
  • Exchange Server
The exchange server is often specified on the 'Location Role' the provisioning system will then allocate the user to the specified Exchange Server. It may round-robin users across all user mailbox stores or may allocate the user to a specific store based on the users LastName of some other rule.
  • Home or Profile Server
Specify the server to store the users home or profile drive on. Allocate to different shares based on loading or last name.
  • Group Membership
Add users to distribution lists or folder Access
  • Services Entitlements
Automatically allocate software, other services like internet access etc based

Why use the Activate User Provisioning Manager module?

The underlying assumption is that a user or external process should be able to create a user account by entering a small amount of information. The remaining information required to completely create and provision the account should be derived from business rules defined by the system. This ensures that user accounts are created consistently and accurately each time.
